Midgray is a multidisciplinary studio that uses research-based methods to explore the intersections of culture, technology, and aesthetics. Driven by discourse and iterative processes, our work experiments with art and design as investigative tools to create projects that do not necessarily culminate in a product. Our work examines language, gender performance, privacy, and consent through outputs that span digital and print media, moving images, interactive installations, curatorial projects, workshops, and games.
Midgray has exhibited work in galleries and conferences in Rome, San Francisco, Santa Cruz, Los Angeles, and Portland. We have been artists-in-residence at the Art Farm in Nebraska. Our artistic and educational work has received several awards and grants from the Oregon Arts Commission and the University of California.
